Headteacher's Update
Our Claydon Countdown Challenge has certainly gone down well with students with evidence of them taking on each day’s task with vigour. Compliments, holding doors open and allowing someone to go ahead of them in a queue have all created a lovely atmosphere in school. Likewise, on our sharing a joke day, we all laughed a lot, often at some spectacularly awful jokes, most of which came from the staff!
Friday’s challenge was to donate an item to our charity hampers and we were overwhelmed with the generosity of everyone in the school community as 33 hampers were displayed. Not only did their external wrappings showcase huge imagination and creativity from our students but their contents showed real compassion and thoughtfulness towards people who find this time of year a real challenge.
We continue counting down to the end of this term on Thursday with celebration assemblies for each year group as well as bringing the whole school together on the last day. We are also hosting members of the local community for a “Music and Mince Pies” event on Monday and the Christmas concert on Tuesday; please do come along to these if you can.
All of these special events extend learning and conduct that we see everyday of our young people and that is why we know how superb they are as they develop into young adults. Please look out for our newsletter which gives a lot more detail about all of the many events which take place at school and if you would like to visit, our Open Mornings are advertised elsewhere on the school website and you are welcome to come and see the school in action.
