Headteacher's Update
As a teacher I am frequently asked if this part of the school year sees us "winding down" and the simple answer here at Claydon High School is "No!". The lighter evenings have seen lots of sports taking place and various competitions held; this stood students in good stead for our annual sports day which saw school records tumble, teachers get very wet in fundraising for a good cause and the inauguration of the Matt Jack sports cup awarded to the winning house at the school. 'C' were victorious and were very vocal winners.
We continued to commemorate Mr Jack when we all wore our shorts to school and made personal pledges to keep his competitive spirit strong within the school; new staff joined us for that day and joined in with our theme. This will be an annual event.
New students and parents/carers and families have also joined us to mark their formal transition into year 7 and we are delighted to welcome them from 28 different primary schools across the county. Our new year group seem to be very smiley and teachers commented upon how well they worked during the day and they made new friends very.
I have had the pleasure of visiting many of the local primary schools recently and we have hosted different groups of students here and it is great to get to know teachers and students; thanks to all of them for getting involved in the life of Claydon High School.
